Troy Buck and Kathy Harmon went to the Ector County Alternative Education / Ector County Youth Detention school classes where Troy Buck spoke to the youth assigned to those programs. The audience was made up of 58 youth, from the ages of 12 – 17, and approximately 20 adult detention staff, teachers, and counselors. The purpose of the speaking event was to provide the youth an opportunity to hear Troy speak about the perils and consequences of making bad decisions and his eventual incarceration. Troy Buck shared his life experiences with the youth including those before his incarceration at age 55. Troy Buck and Tiger Tale Publishing wanted to provide this presentation as an effort to give a name, face, and real life accounts, in hopes that Troy’s experiences will prevent these youth from making the same mistakes as Troy.
