NO MATTER HOW MANY BRIDGES
by
Cynthia L. Clack
No matter how many bridges you build
No matter how many bridges you burn
I will be at peace
And I’ll be loving you
No matter how many wars you lost
No matter how many lives it cost
I will be at peace
I’ll pay the price for you
Little do you know
And less you understand
The oats you had to sow
A broken heart it cost a man
No matter how many loves you leave
No matter how many seasons seek reprieve
I will be at peace
For I’ll be loving you.

THE TEXAS CONNECTION
by
Cynthia L. Clack
Let me tell you the story of some real crime fighters
It was the middle of nowhere and that’s where they were going
But who’s to say that’s such a bad job
To get paid just to watch the wind blowing for a while
But they were the Texas connection
We learned upon inspection
They had a junkies confection for a while
What could be more fun than playing cops and robbers
Oh Sheriff Rick and Deputy Dick were the real status quo, you know
They had all the respect, got to wear the white hat
And even ride in the rodeo for a while
But they were the Texas connection
We learned upon inspection
It was free of detection for a while
The feds said it was a ton
Our guys said it was none
After all we were just having fun
And we’re licensed to carry a gun for a while
But they were the Texas connection
We learned upon inspection
They had a junkies confection, for a while
Yes it came to an end it had to my friend
For when the cops become the robbers, the dealers and jobbers
And the only way to know is the badge
Now they have to turn it in, surrender and defend, at least for awhile
But they were the Texas connection
We learned upon inspection
They had a junkies confection, for a while
EYE OF THE TIGER
by
Cynthia L. Clack
Oh, eye of the tiger
Tell me what you see
In your moody blue eyes
Is it the ocean
The sky
Or is it me?
What secrets are held
In your tangled web of stripes
Can the story be told
As the mysteries unfold
For the illusion reveals our lives.
Will you devour me white tiger
Or can I call you friend
Only you have known
And we’ll discover in the end
If I’m consumed by you
Or lie by you.
We are one
And always have been.
THE DREAM
by
Cynthia L. Clack
I thought I saw you
In the darkness of the night
Only a shadow passing
Imagination, diminished sight
I thought I heard you
In the whisper of your song
Calling me through the ages
Inspiration, smothered long
It was only a dream
But I would have sworn
That this was the day break
Answered prayers were born
I thought I felt you
In the wiping of my tears
Ever so slightly touching me
Revelation, awakening years
I thought I tasted you
In the sweetness of a kiss
Bless me with another
Exploration, child like bliss
It was only a dream
But I would have sworn
That this was the day break
Answered prayers were born
I thought I smelled you
When I woke from slumber’s plight
But you were only a vision
Celebration, angel’s flight
It was only a dream
But I would have sworn
That this was the day break
Answered prayers were born

DO YOU BELIEVE IN ANGELS
by
Cynthia L. Clack
Was it Wilbur the ghost
Or a guardian angel
Maybe a computer glitch
Or the Bermuda Triangle
Oh what’s happening to me
With things I can’t see
Surrounded by a world of strife
There’s something brewing on the Other Side of Life
Yes, when you think we’re not looking
There’s a whole lot cooking on the Other Side of Life
Do you believe in ghosts?
Do you believe in angels?
In church you sing of heavenly hosts
But do you really believe in angels?
You said that you do
But do you believe it’s true?
Are you sure you believe in angels
The keys that were missing
That book was not there
They all need a blessing
It was an answer to a prayer
Some pray to a saint
When we answer they faint
Working in this world of strife
There’s plenty happening on the Other Side of Life
Little cherubs at play
Michelangelo’s main stay
And we’re still around today
We help lead the way
We give you a light
In the darkness of night
In that world filled with strife
We’re helping you from the Other Side of Life
Yes, when you think we’re not looking
There’s a whole lot cooking on the Other Side of Life

ANGEL OF ROMANCE
by
Cynthia L. Clack
I’m the Angel of Romance
Love’s cause I’ll advance
Yes, I’ll teach you to dance
For I’m the Angel of Romance
Without my tingle
Life would be a bore
The world would be single
No surprises in store
For I’m the Angel of Romance
Unexpected is the rule
Laughter is the cure
Oh, I can make you the fool
Even tears you will endure
For I’m the Angel of Romance
Sideline view doesn’t count
Into the battle each one must brave
White knights their stallions mount
From listless days fair maidens save
For I’m the Angel of Romance
I’ll set you up
He may let you down
For love is filling the cup
After drinking, smile or frown
For I’m the Angel of Romance

MIRACLES MADE ELECTRONICALLY
by
Cynthia L. Clack
Angels do such wonderful things
Amaze uplifted the heavenly choir sings
I’m the Angel of Miracles for human beings
I’ll tell how I earned my angel wings
I did it electronically
It was electronically
They sing about it symphonically
Humans can deny it ironically
But I do my best electronically
Now some angels work in traditional way
Parting the sea for Moses they say
You put us to action when you pray
But I have an unusual way
I did it electronically
It was electronically
They sing about it symphonically
Humans can deny it ironically
But I do my best electronically
I do it easily, no problem with miles
TV’s, radios, give me some dials
Turn them up or down for volume trials
You ask for miracles, I give you smiles
And I’ll do it electronically
God works in mysterious ways
Angels do it when the person prays
Got my orders, an angel obeys
When doing miracles we humans amaze
I do my miracles electronically.
THE KITTIE CAT RUMBLE
by
Cynthia L. Clack
Your world is gonna rock
Your world is gonna tumble
When we get to play the Kittie Cat Rumble
You said you want to play
Check it out and explore
Well this I have to say
It’s a game you can’t ignore
Cause when it comes to mouse and cat
You wonder who will win
You bet on this, I‘ll bet on that
The fight’s about to spin
You look at me
I’ll look right back
It’s round and round we go
When it’s time for strategic attack
You dance too fast, I dance too slow
WRONG WAY
by
Cynthia L. Clack
Ever wonder why life’s such a fight
Nothing seems to be going right
We tried to tell you to turn around
We send you messages, through sight and sound
But hey, hey, she’s going the wrong way.
Hey, Hey, going the wrong way
Didn’t even think to stop and pray
We said stop and you said go
You said yes, we said no
Hey, hey, you’re goin’ the wrong way.
People told her no, but she said yes
We put up the signs, we thought she’s guess
Her decision to marry has turned to a mess
No heavenly circles this wedding will bless
Cause hey, hey, she’s going the wrong way.
Punctured a tire, took the preacher away too
She lined up another before we knew
Nothing will stop her on this path of a quest
Rebounding, astounding, a stubborn hornet’s nest
Hey, hey she’s going the wrong way.
Hey, Hey going the wrong way
Chorus: Didn’t even think to stop and pray
We said stop, you said go
She said yes, we said no
You wanted fast, we said slow
I said high, she went low
What does it take to understand No, No, No.
Cause hey, hey, she’s going the wrong way.
I’LL BE YOUR MUSE
by
Cynthia L. Clack
I’ll be your muse
I’ll be your headline news
For you’ll not keep those blues
When you fall in love with me
You asked me to write your song
It was there all along
I said I’d be your muse
But you’d fall in love with me
Why did you think you could
Hang around with me
Then ask me if I would
Keep you free from love’s debris
Yes, I’ll be your muse
We’ll make that front page news
But you’ll have to pay the dues
When you fall in love with me
You asked me to inspire
Your creation needed fire
But passion will follow heart’s desire
And you’ll fall in love with me
I agree to be your muse
But love’s promises don’t confuse
Sacred hearts must not abuse
Now that you’ve fallen in love with me
I SURRENDER
by
Cynthia L. Clack
How can I find happiness
In the absence of your smile
And I can’t fight this loneliness
When I’m knowing all the while
That you don’t know me
And it seems you never will
Oh dear God, I surrender
Help these painful wounds to heal
How can life go on
When you don’t even know my name
And how can I even breathe
When I know I’m not to blame
For I’ve tried to reach you
And make you comprehend
That I heard you and I listened
Compelled by the message I send
How can I tell you
If rejection is all you give
You’re surrounded by your protectors
You’re smothered though you think you live
Life goes on they say and that’s all I can pray
Just lead me day by day
Dear God, I surrender to you
I surrender (God), Yes I surrender
It’s all that I can do
When you never heard my message
Dear God, it’s up to you
ONCE UPON AN ETERNITY
by
Cynthia L. Clack
Once upon an eternity
Two souls were flying free
They were known as HE and SHE
Once upon an eternity
Once in the land of infinity
I was assigned as guardian of SHE
Other angels watched over HE
A most famous story in history
That time in the land of infinity
Lost was the earth from prosperity
No music, no justice, no levity
Devastated by war in its travesty
This creation had lost its majesty
Once upon an eternity
To earth, they vowed to set it free
For pain and destruction was the tragedy
Oblivion to be healed by the melody
Justice restored by heaven’s key
Once upon an eternity
The pain of birth a mother’s joy
SHE and HE were born a girl and a boy
But to reunite again is a difficult ploy
Yes, these soul mates need an angel envoy
Once upon an eternity
So this is the story of HE and SHE
Bravely they set out to set the earth free
And the years it will take for their unity
Love holds the key to all infinity
Once upon an eternity
HATS OFF TO OUR HEROES
by
Cynthia L. Clack
He’s no stranger to danger
He’s Doodles, the American Poodle
He got famous with the Doodle Do
But he fights hard with the Poodle poo.
His stature may be small
Doesn’t weigh much at all
But he’s full of heart
Yes, he’s very smart
He’s Doodles the American Poodle.
He’s loved wide and far
So very famous, yes a star
He’s Buster’s best friend
And this honor he’ll defend
He’s Doodles, the American Poodle.
A good example he will set
On his courage you can bet
‘Cause he’s lean and mean,
A regular fighting machine
Yes, he’s Doodles the American Poodle.
Hats off to our heroes
Out there fighting the foes.
Bravely enter each day
Your safe return we will pray.
This song is for you,
And our love is true
From Doodles the American Poodle.
WHY CAN’T WE SHARE
by
Cynthia L. Clack
I’ve given all I can give
And you’ve taken all you’ll take
So it’s time to share
I don’t care anymore
It’s time to share.
I’m tired of the tears and the sniffles
Baffled by the junk and the bristles
I don’t care anymore
It’s time to share
So I don’t care
You hit my peaceful missing
Like a tornado without a blessing
So why should I care anymore
It was time to share
Do you even care?
You can label me dependent,
Guilt-ridden, used and spent,
It’s long past time to share
Do you even dare to care any more?
Why can’t we share?
TIME AND ETERNITY
by
Cynthia L. Clack
How can I show I love you
When you’re 2000 miles away?
And how can you know I care
When I can’t find the time to pray?
The time we had passed swiftly
You’re here and then you’re gone
I need to kiss your eyelids
Yes, I need you, I was wrong
The seconds on the clock were relentless
Joining another years’ fraternity
There never was enough time spent with us
But there was enough eternity
You worry about the work
And you worry about the money
Then you worry about the time
Only to worry why you’re lonely.
You didn’t seize the moment
In your quest for heaven’s key
So you lost the here and now
Forgetting the closest thing to eternity
So we’re left with our past
To worry what our future’s see
No never enough time
But always enough eternity
Eternity takes care of itself
Only in time is there a plea
No, never enough time
But always enough eternity
REPLIES FROM A LOST LOVE
by
Cynthia L. Clack
I heard your songs yesteryear
I listened and I stayed
These couldn’t be written for me
So I begged and I prayed
I asked Our Lord and Savior
Release me from this lie
But I only heard the words again
It left me asking why
Why do you not hear me
And why do you decline
To answer eternity’s pleadings
When it’s I their lies malign
For why do they mislead you
And why do you believe
For all the promises made and kept
Why is this one given reprieve
Why did you see the book I sent
And never a reply
You had your gift from a long lost love
The seal, the gift, the lie
May the angels bless what’s true
I wrote the book for you
It’s all that I could do
Was open my life to you.
LITTLE SISTER
by
Cynthia L. Clack
Hey little sister
I’m going to teach you true
The songs of your heritage
They’re mandatory, too.
First the song of a redneck mother
You’re a child of the wild, wild west
Learn it well my sister, dear
In the end there’ll be a test
Next a lonely boy in London town
Gone from Texas far too long
Guitar, cigar and cowboy hat
Won’t replace where they belong
Then there’s the song of my darlin’
Who longed to be called by name
Picking Mom up in the pickup truck
It gave that boy some fame
But the last song is an obscure one
Only educated Texans know
The final song a trilogy, you see
Finally to the bars of Texas you can go
Hey little sister
I’m going to teach you true
The songs of your heritage
They’re mandatory, too.
JUST ONE MIRACLE
by
Cynthia L. Clack
Dear God, why are you taking my brother
There are so many for you to choose
Oh God, why not take another
This is one I’m not ready to lose
Oh, God, hear my plea
Why not take me
Flat on your back if you’ll just sign
This power of attorney, now power is mine
To clean up your life in ways you won’t do
Trust me, my brother, I’ll take care of you
Oh, brother, as you can see
You can trust me
Dear God, I’m down on my knees
together Dear God, just one miracle please
We all know numbered are our days
God works in mysterious ways
Just one miracle please
Dear God, oh why, this is not fair
You are taking my loved one
And it seems you don’t care
How can I believe God is love
Oh God, answer this prayer
Deliver this man from Death’s snare
Sit right here my paralyzed attorney
We’ll wheel you out for your last time journey
Beer, pizza, and balloons this dying man’s spree
Party tonight! Fate’s destiny we’ll flee
Oh brother, living you’ll see
Come party with me
Dear God, I’m down on my knees
together Dear God, just one miracle please
We all know numbered are our days
God works in mysterious ways
Just one miracle please
I THOUGHT THERE’D BE ROCKETS
by
Cynthia L. Clack
What did they say
A most romantic day
So why am I sitting alone
While a prom queen’s on her throne
I thought there’d be rockets
For me
Where did he go
They’re all dancing so slow
It’s just Buddha and me
Only a wallflower, you see
I thought there’d be rockets
For me
Rockets, yes there should be rockets
Bursting in air
I know he’s out there
In that vast somewhere
And he will bring rockets for me
God, what’s wrong with me
Just a lonely girl that they see
Each girl has her date
For me a desperate state
Was there something about rockets
For me
I HOPE I’M IMPRESSING YOU
by
Cynthia L. Clack
I hope I’m impressing you
With my presence I’m blessing you
Please don’t think I’m pressing you
To vote for me
I hope I’m impressing you
A pleasant nod will do
I should have stopped at two
I didn’t have a clue
What drinking would do to me
I hope I’m impressing you
I do hope you will remember me
Margaritas? I only had three
Tipsy? A little, you see
But do remember me
I hope I’m impressing you
My argument was the best
Forget about the rest
What’s that swinging, a vest
I hope you remember me
I hope I’m impressing you.
THE FAT BUDDHA BOOGIE
by
Cynthia L. Clack
Here I sit by you again
Looking at your triple chin
I’ll have to practice my zen
And do the Fat Buddha Boogie
Yes, I’ll do the Fat Buddha Boogie
How did this happen to me
Another wrong guy, don’t you see
Finding the right guy just can’t be
So I’ll do the Fat Buddha Boogie
Yes, I’ll do the Fat Buddha Boogie
Why can’t you help, Mr. Wise
Last time you were smaller in size
Paper mache or solid gold the prize
Oh, I’ll do the Fat Buddha Boogie
Yes, I’ll do the Fat Buddha Boogie
Are you a genie, then grant my bliss
Free me from this foolishness
Help me find my happiness
And I’ll do the Fat Buddha Boogie
Yes, I’ll do the Fat Buddha Boogie
THE BIG HAIR BALLET
by
Cynthia L. Clack
I’m given this assignment
So I’ll get her in alignment
I’ll do it with refinement
Cause I’m the Angel of Beauty
Big hair is the call
This isn’t very hard at all
I even make the short look tall
Cause I’m the Angel of Beauty
Beauty, I’m the Angel of Beauty
And I find it my duty
To help out this cutie
Good hair days from bad
She’ll never be sad
Cause I’m her Angel of Beauty
Researched this location well
Texans don’t have to tell
Big Hair has them under spell
And I’m the Angel of Beauty
Farah did it, Ann did too
Started with the Beehive do
Kinda catches up with you
Yes, I’m the Angel of Beauty
